Depression

Chronic pain and depression often go hand in hand and for good reason. When you are in pain, you often become socially isolated.

Aqua therapy will help you to get out of this isolated state because there are many people here eager to listen, talk, and relate to any issue you are having. Depression sometimes comes with eating disorders as well. If you come and exercise in our therapy pools, you will prevent such eating disorders from happening because by burning more calories you will be even hungrier than before, and if you happen to be over-indulging, you can lose weight.

Depression can also lead to sleeplessness and fatigue. Coming to exercise in our therapy pools can help you feel rejuvinated when you leave, and be able to sleep through the night. Aqua therapy shows improvement in overall mood through its psychosocial benefits. Aquatic therapy can reduce stress and anxiety because one of the benefits of exercise is stress relief. Aquatic therapy also increases one’s ability to concentrate, enhances the feeling of well-being and confidence, and allows a person in pain to find their center of calm.

PTSD

Aquatic therapy  will help you to relax, and strengthen yourself physically and mentally from your traumatic event.

Aquatic therapy will help your physical and psychological stress disipate . The warm water will help your tense musclses relax, and the sound of rushing water will put your mind at ease. This will minimize your physical pain, and increase your sense of well-being.

Exercise in and of itself is a great way to relieve stress. It also allows you to sleep better. Aquatic exercise burns more calories than exercise on land. In burning more calories, you will be able to sleep better at night.

Because you are able to relax, you might find that you have an increased ability to concentrate. This is due to your mind being free from your daily stresses and worries.

Anxiety

According to some studies, regular exercise works as well as medication for some people to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and the effects can be long lasting. One vigorous exercise session can help alleviate symptoms for hours, and a regular schedule may significantly reduce them over time.

Aquatic exercise is a great way to relieve anxiety. Exercise in the water allows your muscles to relax and in doing so, allows your mind to relax. When using aquatic exercise, one tends to burn more calories. By doing so, there will be more stress relieved. You will also be able to sleep better because you will be even more tired than if you exercised on land.
